Battleborn Is Shutting Down And Will Be Completely UnplayableTime: Nov. 26, 2019
Three years after launch and two years after going free-to-play, Gearbox's Battleborn is officially shutting down. Publisher 2K Games announced that the servers will go offline in January 2021.
2K Games confirmed that it plans to "focus efforts and resources on other projects" following the announcement. The company tweeted that it is "extremely proud of the work that went into the game and will continue to provide updates on the sunsetting of the title when appropriate."
Until 2021, Battleborn will remain playable in some form. 2K Games clarified in a blog post that the game's premium currency, Platinum, will no longer be purchasable after February 24, 2020. Any currency you have stockpiled can still be spent until the servers get deactivated in 2021. You will no longer be able to play Battleborn in any capacity once the servers go offline, including the game's single-player campaign.
Battleborn has already been removed from digital storefronts like the PlayStation Store and Steam. However, the game can still be purchased from SCDkey.
