The NPD group published its best selling hardware and software report for the last month, with Far Cry 5 at the top.

The best-selling hardware platform for March 2018 was the PlayStation 4, but the best-selling console for the month of March was the 32GB Nintendo switch with the Neon Red/Blue Joy-Con Bundle package.

Of the top 4 best-selling games, three were exclusive, followed by Microsoft's Sea of Thieves, followed by MLB: The Show on PS4 and Kirby Star Allies on Switch. Sea of Thieves "has generated the highest sales at the launch" for a rare since the NDP began to follow the games in 1995.
